Impacting the Community
New Life Family Assistance is to model the love and compassion of Jesus Christ by providing food to the hungry and the needy in our community. We are able to do so by a volunteer staff using food that is donated by the members of NL and the community. In conjunction with RMA, our thrift store, we are able to help families who are in need of clothing, baby items, furniture, shoes and health and beauty items through our voucher system. All appointments are handled by the NL office.

Our RMA Thift Store, currently located at 8380 Spencer in La Porte Texas. This store is the model of practical help for families of all ages and needs. It has two programs that operate locally.
1. It is a self supporting family support center. With one of our Family Client coupons, given out at our Family Client Services Ministry, a family can shop with their coupon the same as if it were money. This provides them with complete privacy, as well as the ability to receive exactly what they are in need of. These Coupons are good for seasonal clothing for men, women, boys and girls, maternity and babies of all sizes. Also shoes, socks, belts, hats, coats in the winter time, purses and briefcases. Linens such as blankets, sheets, pillows also are given. We also provide furniture, and housewares for families. This can range from living room items to bedroom as well. We provide health and beauty items as well as school supplies also. Everything is separated into sizes, tagged and made sure it is of a good quality and clean.
This program has been in operation for over 20 years now, and has met the needs of thousands of families through the years.
2. The RMA store also is a great place for families to shop with their own funds. Senior citizens, single moms, the handicapped and families on a tight budget all depend on the RMA store to help stretch their dollars every week. Their purchases provide the funding for our Family Client Services Program to provide for the needy.
There are countless stories of people in need, who found support, care and love at RMA! From the many families who have suffered a house or apartment fire that left them with nothing, to the different families found struggling after a painful eviction ordeal to get back on their feet. Grandparents left to raise their grandchildren and those who lose their jobs, and even people suddenly with a life changing illness that all find themselves in circumstances beyond their control . There are all types of needs that are met here on a daily basis.
Donations are thankfully received and everything is useful! Please consider giving in one of our donation bins for your charitable donation. We appreciate your help. Together we can help one another through the tough times in life.
